Tailor Made Honeymoons

Congratulations on your engagement and now you are about to plan the happiest day of your life together with your honeymoon.

If you are planning to get married and honeymoon abroad then together with our Travel Partners we can arrange your perfect honeymoon in all sorts of romantic settings from an exclusive island in the Indian Ocean or Caribbean beaches to an Italian monastery in Tuscany.  There are several specialist Tour Operators with whom we partner such as the Inspiring Travel Company who have an extensive portfolio to suit your needs and budget.

If you are looking for that idyllic location for your honeymoon, then you could do no better than choosing one of the two ‘M’s’, Mauritius or the Maldives.

Both located in the Indian Ocean, the Maldives and Mauritius fit everyone’s dream of the perfect “get away from it all destinations.”   Offering year round sunshine, swaying palms, deserted white sand beaches, aquamarine blue seas they have all the ingredients for a romantic honeymoon where peace and tranquillity awaits.

The Maldives lies in two rows of atolls in the Indian Ocean, just across the equator.  These unique atoll structures are formed upon a sharp ridge rising from the ocean, making way for their secluded uniqueness.  Each atoll in the Maldives is made of a coral reef encircling a lagoon, with deep channels dividing the reef ring. A string of islands take their places among this atoll ring; each island has its own reef encircling the island lagoon. The reefs of the islands, alive with countless types of underwater creatures and vibrant corals, protect the islands from wind and wave action of the surrounding vast oceans.

The Maldives really are the quintessential picture-perfect holiday – where sands are as white as the smiles of the locals, where fish swim happily in the warm waters of the Indian Ocean, where the weather is a dream, and the deep rays of the sun wait to engulf you.   Far-flung and exotic, the ultimate luxury beach escape and idyllic setting for a wedding or honeymoon.

Our Travel Partner, Inspiring Travel Company, feature many of the top resorts such as the Conrad Maldives Rangali Island – this luxurious award-wining resort is spread across two white sand islands, Rangali and Rangalifinolhu and is the epitome of castaway luxury.

This resort offers a good choice for food lovers, with eight restaurants including the ultimate experience at the amazing under water restaurant, Ithaa – the world’s original under sea restaurant.

It is also home to the Maldives’ first Spa Retreat, a paradise within paradise and a sanctuary for complete relaxation with in-villa treatment rooms and a private sun deck with a Jacuzzi. The Over Water Spa also includes treatments rooms with glass floors, providing entrancing views of the marine life below.

There are also endless opportunities for watersports, diving and excursions.

Another popular resort featured by our Travel Partner, Inspiring Travel Company, is Como Cocoa Island – situated on a perfect dot of white powdery sand in the clear turquoise waters of the Indian Ocean this intimate private island is located amongst the best dive sites in the world, boasting its own house reef.

The tranquil setting is enhanced by the understated elegance of Cocoa Island’s design. The stylish suites are designed to resemble local dhoni fishing boats and feature direct access to the turquoise lagoon.

The second ‘M’ – Mauritius – is another sparkling gem in the Indian Ocean which was discovered by a Portuguese navigator in 1505 , the island was occupied successively by the Dutch, then the French and then ceded to Great Britain in 1814 before gaining independence in 1969.  Reassuring remnants of the British colonial era remain in the Gymkhana Club, tea plantations and driving on the left, but an active volcano, an abundance of palm trees, dhal puri stalls at markets and the ubiquitous dodo icon, add a touch of the exotic.

Today the population consists of Hindus, Muslims, Chinese, Creoles and Europeans and it is this integrated, exotic pot-pourri of languages, customs, cultures and cuisine,  together with the renowned, friendly hospitality of the Mauritian people that makes this island so vibrant and appealing and one of the Indian Ocean’s most cosmopolitan islands and the perfect honeymoon location.

Mauritius offers both unparalleled luxury and tropical island sophistication and is known for its exceptional service and accommodation. Expect superb water sports, excellent golf with stunning championship courses and exquisite dining too with the island’s eclectic cuisine influenced by France, the Orient and spiced with a Creole touch.

The coastline is almost entirely surrounded by coral reefs and white sand beaches. The east coast is pure white sand bliss, with spectacular sunrises and trade winds that are ideal for parasailing, windsurfing and kite surfing. On the northern coast the sugary sands of Trou aux Biches melt into turquoise seas and thanks to an unbroken coral reef the diving here is superb.  The golden sand beaches and shallow waters of the west coast make it popular with families, but the lighter winds and the spectacular sunsets draw couples and honeymooners too.

If you love the outdoors and nature you will be enchanted by the magnificence of the mountains, nature reserves and wildlife parks.   It is an island for relaxation and exploration, with Indian temples, colonial houses, botanical gardens and diverse wildlife together with its 177km of spectacular, vibrant coastline and surrounding coral reefs ensuring that the island is a great destination for watersports, diving and snorkelling resulting in the perfect tropical island.

Here again our Travel Partner, Inspiring Travel Company, feature most of the top resorts such as the Four Seasons Resort Mauritius at Anahita, this secluded hideaway is located in the stunning sanctuary of Anahita in the shadow of the lush Bambou Mountains and on one of the calmest lagoons in the region. Here, the spacious villas and residences, each with its own plunge pool and outdoor shower, provide the perfect place for peace and rejuvenation

The resort offers four restaurants and a bar lounge providing a variety of delights, from the gourmet contemporary steakhouse at Beau Champ to Italian specialities at Acquapazza, on the resort’s private island.   Elsewhere in the resort, the Four Seasons Spa has 12 over-water treatment suites, eight of which are designed specifically for couples.

Another popular honeymoon destination is the Caribbean where again there are numerous resorts or hotels to choose from and is a popular choice for couples looking for a honeymoon location or a destination wedding with style.  Most popular with British couples are St. Lucia, Antigua, Grenada, Jamaica with Barbados being one of the best, bar none.   However, there are many other islands to choose from with each having its own distinct character but all having stunning scenery, soft sandy beaches and year round sunshine.

Barbados is usually the first place that springs to mind when you start planning your honeymoon in the Caribbean and it doesn’t disappoint.  From the Lord Nelson Statue to the National Heroes Square in Bridgetown – a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Barbados is steeped in history with old colonial buildings standing proud along the streets of this distinctly British-feeling island.

But let’s not forget the beaches – this island boasts an awe-inspiring coastline with glorious stretches of white and pink sandy beaches and secluded bays backed by swaying palm trees.

Elegantly luxurious hotels and villas provide exceptionally high levels of personal service and there’s a fantastically vibrant laid-back and friendly atmosphere not least due to the infectious rhythms of calypso music. There’s a plethora of championship golf courses, polo to enjoy and cricket matches aplenty also all manner of festivals and events

Barbados is an island of contrasts, sleek and modern in lots of ways but it still maintains the customs, traditions and religious influences of England.  It isn’t a huge island at around 166 square miles so get out and about and explore the island, with its beautiful scenery and sights aplenty  –  you can be sure of a warm welcome from the local Bajan people.

Here is where Inspiring Travel Company began their venture into luxury travel way back in 1974 so their decades of experience ensures that you will enjoy the best resorts, hotels and locations on the island.  A favourite gathering place of the rich and famous Barbados is the place to see and be seen and a luxury Barbados holiday offers a vibrant culture that takes life at its own pace – relaxed and easy going.

One of the most iconic hotels on the island must be Sandy Lane, on a superb beach location on the island’s exclusive West Coast the outstanding levels of luxury  have established Sandy Lane as the preferred Caribbean resort of royalty, celebrities and discerning travellers alike. From service to location, activities to relaxation, this iconic resort does it all with efficiency, ease and the utmost elegance.

Another hotel located on the West Coast and possibly my favourite, is Cobblers Cove.  Exclusive and intimate, each suite at this Relais & Châteaux hotel is a haven of elegance and no stone is left unturned in providing for your every need on a luxury Barbados holiday here.

Originally a plantation house, this delightfully charming hotel is a luxury hideaway of English design in an authentic Caribbean setting.

The spacious suites all have air-conditioned bedrooms, bathroom and minibar, with breeze-cooled living spaces that spill out onto either a terrace or balcony offering views of lush tropical gardens or the ocean. From the moment you arrive and are greeted with a refreshing cocktail, you’ll find the mood to be warm and welcoming, with nothing being too much trouble for the friendly and attentive staff.

Cobblers Cove a haven of peace and tranquillity in an ideal location – it will not disappoint.

Finally and in total contrast is the Castel Monastero, situated in Tuscany at the heart of the Chianti region it offers gourmet dining, a world-class spa and beautifully appointed rooms all lying within the medieval walls of this luxury retreat.  This delightful hotel is a former 11th century medieval village now lovingly restored and refurbished as a stunning countryside retreat.

Castel Monastero boasts a superb wine cellar, where guests can sample the very best of the wines produced in the surrounding vineyards. A variety of sophisticated gastronomic experiences and cooking courses can also be enjoyed, with Tuscan cuisine interpreted by Chef Fabrizio Peruzzi in combination with Gordon Ramsay.

Elsewhere, the superb 1000 square metre spa offers exclusive product lines and a wide range of revitalising treatments, while the gym and three swimming pools are great for working out or relaxing. Other activities in the vicinity include guided tours of Tuscany and Chianti, polo at the nearby Villa Sesta Polo Club, golf at the magnificent 18-hole Golf Club Ugolino, and black and white truffle hunting in autumn.

If you are looking for something different then a honeymoon at Castel Monastero will suit your needs as it really is indulgent, beautiful and relaxing!
