Multi Centre Holidays

Itchy feet? Don't like staying too long in one location or time short and want to pack as much into your holiday as you can - then why not take a Multi Centre Holidays.

The world is your oyster and there is so much to see and do with most of you having your own bucket list but if you are looking for some ideas then we, together with our Travel Partner Travelpack,  have some suggestions to tempt you.

One destination popular with UK travellers is Thailand where our Travel Partner, Travelpack feature a Multi Centre Holiday taking in Chiang Mai, Chiang Rai & Bangkok which will give you a good taste of this fascinating country and its cultural and religious history.

Located in Southeast Asia, Thailand encapsulate the old and the new, where gleaming temples and golden Buddhas frame both the rural and modern landscape in this Buddhist nation.

Bangkok is the capital city of Thailand and now the most populated but began as a small trading centre some 200 years ago.   Today, whilst the city has kept pace with modern times, the grandeur of its past is still to be seen and the city is known for its ornate temples, spectacular palaces, a world famous floating market and colourful Chinatown.

Ever changing and never predictable, Bangkok is a true city on the move and is full of surprises waiting to be discovered. From charming hawkers and bustling markets, to innovative entrepreneurs and glittering skyscrapers.

Another Bangkok specialty is its food – you can eat local dishes from humble street stalls to haute cuisine dining at romantic rooftop restaurants – finishing off by having a glimpse of its famous nightlife, from cabarets to exotic red-light districts.  Shopping is a must with luxury malls, boutiques and markets where you can treat yourself without breaking the bank.

The other destinations featured in this Multi Centre Holiday are In the northern, mountainous region of Thailand where you will find Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai.

Chiang Mai was founded in 1296 and was the capital of the independent Lanna Kingdom until 1558 and its Old City still retains some remnants of walls and moats from its history as a cultural and religious centre.  There are hundreds of elaborate Buddhist temples such as the 14th-century Wat Phra Singh and 15th-century Wat Chedi Luang

Chiang Rai, is located near the borders of Laos and Myanmar (formerly Burma) and is home to Wat Phra Kaew, a royal temple that once housed the jade Emerald Buddha which now displays a replica.

Another combination is Abu Dhabi and Sri Lanka which gives the opportunity to visit a vibrant modern city together with a relaxing stay in Sri Lanka.

Abu Dhabi is the capital of the United Arab Emirates and located off the mainland on an island in the Arabian Gulf. What was a fishing village has now been transformed into a thriving modern metropolis thanks to the discovery of oil.  The past has not been forgotten and the museums, mosques and bazaars are in sharp contrast to the futuristic skyscrapers and luxury hotels/resorts – it is really an architectural paradise with some of the most breathtaking buildings you will ever see.

Unique in its fusion of history and modern life, Abu Dhabi has plenty to offer and one of my favourite places to visit must be the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque (the White Mosque), a beautiful and most peaceful place where beneath white-marble domes you will find an immense Persian carpet, crystal chandeliers and the most exquisite tiling on both walls and floors, marvel at the space which has the capacity for 41,000 worshipers –  it  takes your breath away.   Visit Qasr al-Hosn, also known as the “White Fort”, which is the oldest stone building in Abu Dhabi or for something a little more adrenaline-fuelled, why not try sand skiing? Swap powdery snow for miles of rolling sand dunes in the Liwa Oasis, which offers some of the best sand skiing in the world.

Finally, opened in November 2017, The Louvre Abu Dhabi, designed by International architect Jean Nouvel this museum is an extraordinary and beautiful building, with its huge domed roof criss crossed with a geometric pattern letting the light filter through the building creating an inspiring effect – being built on the water’s edge the building seems to float magically.

The second destination is Sri Lanka, formerly known as Ceylon and romantically christened the “tear drop of India”, has a heritage that dates back thousands of years and few places have so many UNESCO World Heritage sites and temples.  Lapped by the warm waters of the Indian Ocean it has miles of unspoilt palm-fringed beaches.

Sri Lanka is one-of-a-kind destination where you will discover an inspiring cultural heritage, explore mangrove forests and Buddhist temples, and simply enjoy sublime holiday experiences with your loved one and family.

You will find that Sri Lanka is pretty close to paradise, a treasure trove of history with a wealth of attractions to explore, not forgetting the food, from the ever present curry and rice to Tamil specialities and most of all the warm and friendly people.

7 nights accommodation in Sri Lanka in a Superior Room

(Located on Bentota peninsula Centara Ceysands Resort & Spa Sri Lanka enjoys a superb location with the Bentota River on one side and the Indian Ocean on the other, ensuring dreamy views from most areas of the resort, and offering a natural environment along with a wide range of facilities and activities. The resort is accessed by a short boat ride across the lagoon from a departure point a few minutes to Aluthgama station, and river and ocean boat trips are a major attraction.

Finally, the ultimate 16 night Multi Centre to Dubai, Kuala Lumpur, Bali and Singapore.

Dubai offers the perfect combination of long sandy beaches, contemporary city living, peaceful mountain retreats and captivating desert adventures, all within a short drive from each other.  Dubai is perfect for those who want to experience it all and is extremely well known for its warm hospitality and their people are welcoming and generous in their approach to visitors.

Dubai is a place of fascinating contrasts, a distinctive blend of modern city and timeless desert, a place where East meets West and where gleaming skyscrapers stand side-by-side with the intricate alleyways of the Souk and although much of Dubai is of ultra-modern construction and design, the emirate still retains a wealth of sites with Old World appeal.

Kuala Lumpur is the capital of Malaysia with its modern skyline dominated by the iconic Petronas Twin Towers but with reminders of the past in its colonial architecture, old world charms and culture.

The city is divided into numerous districts with its main hub called the Golden Triangle comprising of Bukit Bintang, KLCC and Chinatown.  There are expansive shopping malls hosting a wide range of upmarket labels from all over the world – a shoppers paradise!

Bali – the enchanted ‘Islands of the Gods’ – this Indonesian island must be one of the most popular holiday destinations in the world.

Bali is dynamic, organic and constantly changing but still manages to maintain its uniqueness and magic, attracting visitors from all over the world with many returning time and time again.  Bali’s love for art and serenity has influenced hotel, restaurant and shop owners so creating an atmosphere that is unique and heart warming.

There are many reasons that Bali offers an unforgettable holiday – the welcoming nature of its people; the value for money offered by hotels, restaurants, spas etc.; the unique, vibrant culture; the beauty of the island and the year round pleasant climate – what more could you wish for?

Singapore – poised at the tip of the Malay Peninsula it is an exotic melting pot of diverse people and cultures which retains a distinct ethnic charm and yet is a model city of the 21st Century and is about as westernised as Asia gets, its cleanliness and efficiency is outstanding.

With its soaring city skyline and shiny skyscrapers, you might get the impression that it has little history paving the way to the modern metropolis it is today but look deeper and you will discover a wealth of history dotted among its towers. With a blend of Chinese, Malay, Indian and Eurasian it is home to a multitude of cultures and one of its greatest attractions is the variety of experiences and landmarks visitors can sample, there’s something new to explore at every turn.
